Howdy,

I'll be staying from Sunday to Friday at the Quality Inn for Iaapa. Anyone else staying there? My plan is to either walk to the convention center or hitch a ride if anyone has a car there. Not exactly sure how far away it is from the hotel.

Thanks,
Harold

We're staying at the Quality Inn Plaza. Is that the one you are staying at? If so, it is an easy walk or you can hop on the trolley.

Can I ask...

Which hotels are worth staying at...and which ones should be avoided?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Stay on International Drive.

If you don't have a room booked already I would highly recommend you get one soon before everthing is booked.

Thanks Heidi...

Any specific hotels you can recommend? I was on the IAAPA site today to book our room...and just wanted to be sure that we didn't end up with a "clunker" of a room/hotel.

I stay at the same one every time down there, Barcelo/used to be a Radisson something, it's so long ago that I booked it! They have a nice pool, bar/restaurant, wi-fi...how much time do you actually spend in your room anyways! I don't expect too much for $59/night.

There are so many restaurants and things to do on International Drive, no matter where you end up should be ok.

You get the shuttle from the International Drive hotels no matter how you booked your room.

The shuttle runs those hotels all day and you just hop on it in front of your hotel

Someone else clued me in on a different thread so I thought I would mention it here as well.

I had originally booked through the Iaapa site but then Orbitz just announce a $150 discount on all trips to Orlando for 5 days. I canceled my Iaapa booking and booked through Orbitz. It cost me $390.00 for Sunday through Friday at the Quality Inn on International Dr and includes a non-stop flight through Continental.

Good to know about the trolley. I didn't know there was one.

Also, I found a link at my hotel that leads to: <a href="http://townandcountrytransportation.com/discount.htm" target="_blank">http://townandcountrytransportation.com/discount.htm</a>

I'm trying to book my airport -> Hotel shuttle through them, &#036;18.00 round trip vs &#036;32.00 at the airport or a Taxi ride. I'm not planning on renting a car, I'll just be going from the convention back to my hotel.

book on orbitz.com. use code SUNANDSKI150 for &#036;150 off 5 nights or SUNANDSKI75 for &#036;75 off 3 nights. i posted the full promotion details somewhere else in the forum. this is a huge savings, although, i don't feel anyone is taking advantage of it.

Just in case anyone is still looking for a deal. The ramada inn lakefront, 6500 international drive. is having fall special where you can get a room for 49.95 a night . But you have to check out on the 16th or the price will go up considerably after that. It includes a continental breakfast and is 3 miles from the convention center.
