What Do You Pay For Insurance Per Year 7 Years, 8 Months ago

There was a day that I paid $3,000 a year and that covered everything I owned and now I pay way too much and it really made me kick it up a notch. the First year the insurance went up I felt I work all year just to pay insurance. I was able to buy new inflatables and have extra cash but I sure felt like I was working just to pay insurance. Business for me has really been good and I've been able to get into many events and that has really help me stay on top of this insurance problem. Insurance is kind of like gas prices. You really have no choice but to pay! I know if you had a good company when insurance stop writing you were in good shape but i was with one that stop writing. I know someone that only pays $5,000 a year for the same inflatables I pay $17,000 for. So I guess I was with the company that was the cheapest before and I should of paid more and been with a company that renewed there people. It was a big mistake I mad. If I would of had another insurance when this all happen I would being paying less than half i do now.
Well I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone pays for insurance. I know a few people around me that still choose not to have insurance. I will keep insurance as long as I'm in this business.

I'm sure happy that I'm not the only one that pays between $15,000 and $20,000. That is a insurance policy that does not care how many inflatables I own or what I own. They allow me to make up to $200,000 and at this time I'm not even close. My goal is to buy more inflatables and get more events and gross 199,999 a year. If I'm going to pay allot for insurance I might as well make what I should to be paying that money.

I've got the same carrier that you do EM. It's a steep price but it covers everything I own. This is my first year with them and at first it did seem I was working to pay for insurance. Its gotten better because I am having an enormous year but I like that I have some room to grow before the rates get any higher. Plus I get to carry equipment others can't or won't.

Brad thats how I see it. I'm buying five new inflatables and one is a 30' slide and my insurance stays the same. I've had a really good year also but I use to have a good year and only paid $3,000. I'm making more money now and my insurance has gone up also. Thats why I'm really expanding my business this year. If i'm going to pay a big mans price I'm going to be that big man. My insuarnce I have is not with Lyode of london anymore. They wanted more than I'm paying now.
Well Got to run.

in Belgium:
about 200 $ (225€) for general liability
it is for one person and the inflatable must be smaller that 50 m²
Is assume that's is the kind of issurance you mean.

Scottie,
200 $ is for a full year and no limitation on the number of inflatables, they just need to be smaller than 50 m².
I hope you understood it that way.
One advantage, yeah, where should I start with the disadvantages ...

Hello everyone, new to the board and new to the business. I have a bouncer on the way. I have gotten a quote from a agent, only one I could find, I was shocked. 1500 dollars per unit with attendant. I could spend 7000 dollars on a unattended policy but for one unit and bing new I couldn't justify it. Anyone in the Columbus Ohio area that wouldn't mind giving me some agents I would really appreciate it.

Welcome Mike!
You might want to check out our inflatable insurance list for more options... I'm pretty sure the Friedman Group (one of our sponsors here) writes in your area.

It's not exactly free... he's a Space Walk business partner. They pay his insurance but get 60% of every rental fee. There is a thread called Opinions on Space Walk in the Inflatable Rental Biz questions topic that explains more about the setup.

You will be happy with Friedmans. They have great service, and are very fast on getting back with you.
I wouldn't even shop around for better prices. You just wont find any. Keep in mind if you join www.sioto.org and pass the exam you get an extra 10% off your insurance.

Is that any insurance company or broker? Is it just the friedman group? Please clarify this for us.

Mike,
we use Friedman Group, found through this site list of ins. co.
price questionable (we thought kind of high), but they were good to work with.
prompt and pleasant.
We got a booking the week our jumpers first came, they went out of their way to get us covered before they closed for the weekend.

I use them also. They rock cheapest and most willing to help out. I have to thank Boomerang Amusements for telling me about them (before I found this website).

The famous $50 powerpoint presentation. I'd rather make my own for considerably less

If you made your own, would you get 10% off though?
If your insurance cost you $1000/year then it would save you $100. The $50 you spent on SIOTO would then save you a total of $50. That's just an example because I am sure that insurance costs more than $1000 depending on how many units and the quality of the insurance.
I took the test to see how I would do and to see what other info is out there. It does me no good because Space Walk wouldn't give me an extra 10%.

I had no idea you took the course Barry. I think it's pretty cool that you did. Did you have to get corporate blessing to take it after getting their training?
I'm totally sure that there's always room to improve business whether you're in business for yourself or as a franchise.
I'm just saying that I wouldn't want to spend the money to learn something I taught myself. I'm sure that not all insurance companies are gonna honor this "course".

No. What I do with my branch is on me. I don't have to get their blessing on marketing nor on education. If there was something that conflicted with their training, I just go with the more stringent. It never hurts to go above and beyond the letter of the law (or training in this case).
How do you know there isn't something that you "taught" yourself wrong? I'm not saying that you did, just asking because like you said, there is always room for improvement! I do have to say that SIOTO put together a good package that I learned a little from. I think they make sure that it is equal to the codes that they quote. Most of the time, I found they were going beyond what some of them were wanting. That never hurts.

for 200k in rentals our 1mil 2 mil liability policy would cost you 10k. 100k in rentals would cost you about $5500 with no limitations on units, including water units and slides. It is underwritten by the company that underwrites cutting edge product liability. for info, visit me www.astrojump.com/biz_opps.htm
